OZZY OSBOURNE Exhibition At Birmingham Museum Extended to September 2026 Due To Huge Demand

An exhibition celebrating the solo career, global impact, and lifetime achievements of Ozzy Osbourne has been officially extended to September 27, 2026, following extraordinary public interest.

Ozzy Osbourne: Working Class Hero, currently housed at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, was originally scheduled to run until September 2025. Since opening, it has already been extended twice — first to January 18, 2026, and now through late September 2026 — thanks to continued demand and the support of the Osbourne family.

The free exhibition was officially opened on June 25, 2025 by Sharon Osbourne, coinciding with Ozzy's final live appearance at the historic Back To The Beginning homecoming concert at Villa Park.

Developed in partnership with Central BID Birmingham, the exhibition charts Ozzy Osbourne's journey from "a working-class kid from Aston" to one of the most recognizable figures in rock history. On display are many of his most prestigious honors, including:

  • Grammy Awards
  • Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame accolades
  • MTV Awards
  • Hollywood Walk Of Fame honors
  • Birmingham Walk Of Stars recognition
  • A selection of platinum and gold records
  • The exhibition also features rare photography and video footage documenting Ozzy's rise to global stardom.

A deeply moving tribute wall was added to the exhibition on December 3, 2025, which would have marked Ozzy Osbourne's 77th birthday. The wall features 77 messages selected from more than 50,000 tributes left by fans in books of condolence hosted by the museum and across Birmingham following Ozzy's death on July 22, 2025.

Hundreds more messages are included in a film installation within the exhibit, alongside footage of the tens of thousands of fans who lined the streets of Birmingham city center to pay their respects as Ozzy's funeral cortege passed through the city.

Since opening, more than 425,000 visitors have passed through the museum's doors to experience the exhibition—an attendance figure that prompted the latest extension.

Sharon Osbourne commented on the announcement: "We are so proud that Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery asked to extend Ozzy Osbourne: Working Class Hero, and that more fans will now have the opportunity to go through the exhibit."

Sam Watson, chair of Central BID Birmingham, added: "The demand to see the exhibition has been phenomenal and we are very grateful that Sharon and her family have allowed us to extend the exhibition until September 2026, giving Ozzy's fans from the UK and around the world the chance to celebrate his extraordinary life and achievements."

Zak Mensah and Sara Wajid, co-chief executives of Birmingham Museums Trust, echoed the sentiment: "The public response continues to show the love and affection for Ozzy in Birmingham and beyond. We're delighted to announce the exhibition will now remain on display until September 2026."

Ozzy Osbourne: Working Class Hero is presented by Central BID Birmingham, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, and Sharon Osbourne Management, sponsored by Ocean Outdoor and supported by Birmingham City Council and Aston Villa FC.
