The Best of the Black Planet was first released in 1999, and features thirteen of Fela Kuti’s classic tracks, including “Zombie”, “Water Get No Enemy”, and “Sorrow Tears and Blood”.
The album will now be available to purchase as a 4LP box set pressed on red, green, blue, and yellow vinyl in a hardbound book jacket that also serves as a Ludo game board. It will include a sheet of game pieces and instructions on how to play, as well as re-imagined artwork and a new introduction. The pressing will be limited to 3000 units worldwide.
Alongside the announcement of the forthcoming vinyl edition of The Best of the Black President, a new edit of “Coffin for Head of State” has been released.
