Tim Henson has officially stepped into uncharted territory. The genre-defying guitarist and Polyphia visionary released "Original Sin," his first-ever fully self-produced solo single, accompanied by a music video and the announcement of a new clothing brand bearing the same name.
While Henson is best known for reshaping modern instrumental music with Polyphia, "Original Sin" marks the first time he has personally produced, mixed, and shaped every element of a release on his own — offering fans an unfiltered glimpse into his creative instincts.
Originally conceived on keyboard and synth textures, the track took on new life when Henson translated those ideas to nylon-string guitar, an instrument he hasn't centered since Polyphia's 2022 standout "Playing God."
"'Original Sin' started as something digital with synths and keys, but once I translated it to my nylon-string guitar, everything clicked," Henson explained. "I wanted to play with contradiction: a waltz that feels like it's driving forward, something elegant but uncomfortable."
Conceptually, Henson frames the song less as a moral statement and more as a meditation on choice and agency. "If you're forced to do the right thing, it doesn't mean anything," he said. "That idea — freedom, temptation, consequence — is something I've been thinking about a lot."
That philosophy extends beyond the music itself. The "Original Sin" title functions as a metaphor for creation and the accompanying video visually reinforces that tension. The same mindset carries into Henson's newly announced Original Sin clothing brand, envisioned as a high-end creative extension of the release. According to Henson, the line merges elevated design with the same meticulous attention to detail that defines his music.
While Polyphia remains a central focus for 2026, this solo release offers a rare detour — one that highlights Henson's curiosity beyond band dynamics. With millions of followers across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, his reach extends far past guitar culture, intersecting with fashion, philosophy, design and forward-thinking art.
