Australian indie pop duo Royel Otis have announced their sophomore album, hickey, due on August 22nd via OURNESS/Capitol Records.
One of our emerging artists to watch last year, Royel Otis are unveiling hickey as the follow-up to their 2024 debut album PRATTS & PAIN. They previously revealed lead single “moody” as the first offering from hickey; the song was produced by previous Royel Otis collaborator Blake Slatkin and reprises the band’s atmospheric, guitar-forward sound. As far as the title goes, the band stated in a press release that they named the new album hickey “because love bites harder than any other emotion in the world.”
Royel Otis are supporting hickey with a sprawling 2025 tour, including dozens of festival appearances in the US and abroad and a fall North American tour kicking off in September. They’ve also been performing pop-up shows in Los Angeles, New York, and London to celebrate the launch of their new era. Check out Royel Otis’ full 2025 tour dates below, and get tickets here.
Revisit the band’s new song “moody,” which we named as one of the best songs of the week upon release last month.
