“This song was kind of me exercising some of this nostalgia I’ve been feeling - particularly a nostalgia for a past version of my city - the London of 10-15 years ago,” Saint Jude says of the new track. “London is a subject that I’ve written about many times, particularly when I was younger. I think I had a bit of a sense that the city was changing in a way that might leave me behind, and I was anticipating that in my songs and stuff. London is quite a painful place to be right now. So much is being lost and so much is changing.”
Taking its name from the cult London-based series of skate videos and a track from The Chemical Brothers’ Push The Button LP, Saint Jude's new release, "Hold Tight London" lands ahead of two performances at London's Avalon Cafe on 12 and 25 November.
