Paramount+ has officially greenlit NOLA King, a spinoff of its hit series Tulsa King, with Samuel L. Jackson as the lead. Jackson will play Russell Lee Washington Jr., who is sent to take out Sylvester Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi by the Renzetti crime family.
“Inspired by what Dwight created in Tulsa and impressed with the possibilities of second chances, Washington returns to New Orleans, the home he abandoned forty-years ago, to rekindle his relationship with his family, friends, and to take control of the city he left behind,” reads the official description. “In so doing, he incurs the wrath of his former employers in New York, and makes himself vulnerable to old NOLA foes, both criminal and cop.”
Jackson’s character will debut in Tulsa King Season 3, premiering this September. Produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, NOLA King boasts a powerhouse team of executive producers, including Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, Sylvester Stallone, and Jackson himself.
