At the end of 1998’s Practical Magic, witchy sisters Sally (Sandra Bullock) and Gillian (Nicole Kidman) thought they had broken the curse that had haunted their family for generations: All the men they love die tragic deaths. Looks like they celebrated prematurely, as the new trailer for Practical Magic 2 reveals that the Owens women remain cursed (poor Aiden Quinn). However, they haven’t lost their spirit.
Leaning heavily on Harry Nilsson’s classic track “Coconut,” also used in the first film, the new teaser focuses on nostalgia for the original movie while revealing the new generation and teasing hope that maybe the curse might actually be breakable. Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest return as the Owens aunts Frances and Jet, with new cast members including Joey King, Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, and Solly McLeod.
Check out the new trailer below, which plays a little differently in light of the news that Kidman is currently training to be a death doula. Practical Magic 2 flies into theaters on September 11th, 2026.
