Ohio death metallers Sanguisugabogg are releasing their third album, Hideous Aftermath, this fall, and they’ve announced a tour supporting it. “Joining us are some legendary and crazy heavy acts that we can’t wait to share the stage with every night!,” they write. Those acts include Canadian deathcore vets Despised Icon, German tech-death vets Defeated Sanity, and Houston slammers Corpse Pile, and they say some dates include more bands to be announced. The NYC show is at Irving Plaza on November 28. Tickets to all dates go on sale Friday, August 1 at 10 AM local, with various presales starting Wednesday, July 30 at 10 AM local.
Hideous Aftermath is out on October 10 via Century Media, and Josh Welshman of Defeated Sanity appears on one of its tracks, “Abhorrent Contraception,” which you can watch the video for below. DS’ most recent album was Chronicles of Lunacy, one of our favorite metal albums of last year.
The tour announcement comes shortly after Sanguisugabogg dusted off their cover of Black Sabbath‘s “Sweet Leaf” (that they also performed a few times in 2020) in honor of the late Ozzy Osbourne. Their version basically turns it into a death-doom song, and it’s a genuinely awesome cover. Check out some fan-shot footage below.
