SISTRA announce debut album, She Won’t Let Go

Formed by sisters Sasha and Sylvie Briggs, SISTRA have teased their electronic avant-pop sound — which pulls influences from the likes of MUNA, Charli xcx, Oklou and Caroline Polacheck — with previous singles "Double Edged Sword" and "Things I Really Mean". "Is It Just Me?" now arrives as the third preview of She Won't Let Go.

Discussing the track, SISTRA explain: “'Is It Just Me?' is our maximalist, odyssey, freak of a song about loneliness in codependency. Making music with my sister is the best thing ever, but I do sometimes feel a loneliness because we give everything to and take everything from each other. The lyric: 'is it just me who knows exactly what I want?' feels like the most Sylvie sentiment ever. It captures the frustration that powers the song and album."

Speaking about the album, which features production from Chloe Kraemer (The Japanese House, Wet Leg, Rachel Chinouriri), and Micah Jasper (Lily Allen, Ashnikko, Rebecca Black), they add: “Once upon a time, two sisters grew up in a house…how are we still here?! We want to spit out this album before we destroy each other. These songs tell our story of being stuck together for our whole lives, and of our deepest fears and loves. We’re figuring out whether or not we can survive each other, and make it out of this godforsaken house”
