4 days ago 10

The first-ever summer edition of Zombie Apocalypse is nearly here, and we’ve curated six artists who are sure to turn the temperature dial up with their sets at the festival.

While bass music has permeated many festivals throughout Southern California, few have put as wide a range of styles from that realm on display as Zombie Apocalypse has. Since its inception, this Bassrush-hosted experience has brought top names and the best and brightest of rising stars in the scene to the stage to showcase everything from dubstep and trap to drum and bass and experimental styles.

This year saw a massive shift for Zombie Apocalypse, as the festival changed its name and moved from its typical fall dates to warmer summer vibes. Yet that doesn’t mean Bassrush didn’t pack plenty of heat into the lineup for its return to the Queen Mary Waterfront on June 19-20. Found on the list of artists are top acts like Excision and phenoms like Levity, but there are some other acts that will be carrying the torch for their respective genres if you scratch past the surface. Luckily for you, we’ve compiled a list of some artists you simply shouldn’t miss this year.

GA and VIP passes for Zombie Apocalypse are available now. Grab yours via Front Gate and read on for the full list of artists you shouldn’t miss at this year’s edition.

Another UK act that’s slated to bring plenty of dancefloor action to Zombie Apocalypse this year is none other than Crumb Pit. While this duo has primarily dropped some massive drum and bass tunes in their discography, they’ve also broken from the genre to dabble in UK Garage and other bass-fueled styles. Releases on labels like Space Yacht, Dim Mak, Subsidia, and MONTA have stood tall, and their set at the festival will be ones that’re filled with fun moments and plenty of movement.

It’s Over” and “THIGHS (UP)” with Manila Killa are just a glimpse at the power that Crumb Pit brings along with them. Don’t miss out when they dominate the decks at Zombie Apocalypse this year.

Adding even more power to Zombie Apocalypse is yet another UK artist who has been quickly making a name for herself in the scene, [IVY]. The past few years have seen her deliver plenty of energetic performances at festivals like Nocturnal Wonderland and more, all while she’s continued to craft diverse soundscapes in the studio. When she’s not playing or producing drum and bass as [IVY], she’s flipping the script with some techno and trance-infused 4×4 beats under the [SAFYRE] alias, which has also drawn looks from brands like Teletech.

Give “Oxygen” with Adalaide Adams and “Car Crash” with XIRA a spin for a taste of [IVY]’s sound, and get ready to bounce around when she takes the stage at Zombie Apocalypse this year.
