Skid Row are opening up their search for a new singer to the worldwide public. The veteran rock band is teaming up with musical-instrument retailer Sweetwater to hold an open audition for the vacant position.
After their most recent singer, Erik Grönwall, parted ways with the band in early 2024, Skid Row played a run of shows with Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale filling in on lead vocals. However, they’ve been inactive since those gigs wrapped up in June 2024.

Despite classic-era vocalist Sebastian Bach suggesting that he can see a reunion happening, it appears Skid Row has no desire to go in that direction. Instead, the job is open to anyone who can capture the band’s attention.
“This is not a contest or a gimmick,” the band stated “It’s a genuine search for the right voice, presence, and authenticity to carry Skid Row forward.”
Sweetwater content creator Nick Bowcott added, “I first saw Skid Row play in New Jersey before they were signed, and they totally blew me away with the sheer quality of their songs, and the infectious high-energy of their performance. We at Sweetwater are excited to partner with the group to host this once in a lifetime opportunity.”
Interested vocalists can start submitting their audition videos at this location. There is no deadline, as the band plans on scanning through as many submissions as it takes before they find the right person for the job.
