Snarls Announce New EP In Heaven There’s Rainbows: Hear “No Lock, No Prayer”

The sharp, efficient Columbus alt-rockers Snarls were a Stereogum Band To Watch in 2020, and they released their Chris Walla-produced album With Love in 2024. Snarls recently became a quartet with the addition of drummer Mike Taddeo, and now they're announcing a new EP that'll drop in a couple of months.

Snarls recorded their new EP In Heaven There's Rainbows at studios in Nashville and Columbus, and they apparently wrote all the songs in their basement. Maybe it's multiple basements; the Bandcamp description isn't quite clear. It just says "the basement," so maybe that's a metaphorical basement. Anyway, they've got a driving, hooky new single called "No Lock, No Prayer," which could've easily been a hit on Y2K-era alternative rock radio. It does not sound like it came out of a basement.

The Alex Scalzo-Brown-directed "No Lock, No Prayer" video, much like the song itself, is a professionally crafted throwback. This summer, Snarls will head out on a headlining tour with Future Teens. Below, check out the "No Lock, No Prayer" clip, the In Heaven There's Rainbows tracklist, and those tour dates.
