Solomun has announced that he won’t be heading to the desert this year to perform at Coachella because of recent ear surgery he’s still recovering from.

Artists are beginning to make their preparations for the upcoming edition of Coachella, but there’s one who recently announced that he won’t be making it to the desert this year: Solomun.

Earlier today, the typically reserved house and techno artist posted on Instagram Stories, stating that he has to cancel his upcoming appearance at the festival this year due to an ear surgery he recently underwent and is still recovering from.

“I usually try to keep private things private, but this time I wanted to share a little context,” Solomun said. “I had to undergo an operation on my left ear. The doctor says everything went well, so in the near future I’ll most likely hear just as well or just as badly as before. I just need a bit more time for it to fully heal.”

Solomun continued, stating that he was “really looking forward to these shows” and apologized to everyone planning to see him there. He was slated to perform on both Saturdays of Coachella, returning to the desert after remarkable performances in 2017, 2022, and 2025 that won over new and old fans alike.

The Bosnian-German DJ and producer has become renowned over the years for his deep sets that span house, techno, and disco, showcasing his meticulous curation behind the decks. His label, Diynamic, has also made a huge impact on the scene with its forward-thinking releases.

As of publishing, no replacement for him has been announced on the Coachella lineup by Goldenvoice. Solomun’s upcoming appearances in May and June, including EDC Las Vegas and shows in Montreal, Chicago, New York, Paris, and Turin, remain on track. EDM Identity wishes him a speedy recovery!
