Soulwax Announce First New Album in Seven Years, All Systems Are Lying

4 days ago 8

Soulwax, the electronic duo of Belgian brothers David and Stephen Dewaele, is set to return with their first studio album in seven years. Titled All Systems Are Lying, the LP will arrive on October 17th via DEEWEE/Because Music. Listen to the double A-side single “All Systems Are Lying” and “Run Free” below.

All Systems Are Lying was made entirely from modular synths, tape machines, live drums and processed vocals. “We wanted to capture the feeling of a band playing electronic instruments — live, loud and loose,” the Dewaele brothers explained in a press statement. “This record is the result of that experiment.”

When asked to describe the sound of the new Soulwax full-length, they called it “a rock album made without any electric guitars.”

The pair honed the new music with various headline shows and festival slots last year, and have been sharpening that edge with 2025 appearances at Turin’s Kappa Futur and Rock Werchter in their home country of Belgium. They currently have two gigs set for this summer: July 7th in London at Junction 2, and August 2nd at Lokerse Feesten in Brussels, Belgium. Get tickets here.
