South Korean actor Park Min-jae has died at age 32 from cardiac arrest, as confirmed by his agency.
Korea JoongAng Daily reported on December 3 that Park had died from cardiac arrest on November 29, while travelling to China. His company, Big Title, also told press that Park did not face any major health issues prior to his trip.
“The guy that said he would conquer China before leaving for a monthlong trip is now on an eternal journey,” said Big Title CEO Hwang Joo-hye. “It was so unexpected. We spent such a short time together, but I’m really grateful and sorry for you.”
The company also posted a tribute on December 2 via its Instagram page addressing Park’s passing. “The beautiful actor, Park Min-jae, who loved acting and always gave his best, has passed away,” the company’s statement read, as translated by CNA Lifestyle.
“We deeply appreciate the love and attention you have shown to actor Park Min-jae. Although we can no longer see his performances, we will proudly remember him as an actor of Big Title. We offer our deepest condolences.”
Shortly after, Park’s brother took to both their Instagram pages to post information about the late actor’s upcoming funeral service, scheduled for December 4 at the Ewha Women’s University Seoul Hospital Funeral Hall in Seoul.
“My beloved elder brother has left us for a long rest,” he wrote in the post’s caption. “I hope many people will be there to see him go. I also hope you understand that I’m unable to contact everyone.”
Park first made his debut as an actor in 2021 with a role in Kakao TV’s Mr. Lee. He went on to star in numerous K-dramas such as 2023’s Korea-Khitan War, Snap and Spark, Little Women and True To Love, among others.
