Spanish figure skater Tomàs-Llorenç Guarino Sabaté will perform his Minions short program at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan after all. In an Instagram Story, Sabaté revealed that Universal Studios has reversed course and cleared him to use music from the film.
“Huge THANK YOU to everyone who reposted, shared, and supported,” he wrote (via TODAY). “Because of you, Universal Studios reconsidered and officially granted the rights for this one special occasion.”
Earlier this week, the six-time Spanish national champion revealed he had been informed that he was “no longer permitted” to perform his Minions routine “due to copyright clearance issues.” The men’s figure skating short program is scheduled for Tuesday, February 10th.
