Steven Spielberg is officially an EGOT. The acclaimed filmmaker took home a Best Music Film Grammy for his role as a producer on the Disney+ documentary Music by John Williams.
The Grammy gets added to Spielberg’s total of four Emmys (The Pacific, Band of Brothers, Steven Spielberg Presents: A Pinky & The Brain Christmas, Steven Spielberg Presents Taken), three Oscars (Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan), and one Tony (for producing A Strange Loop). He becomes the 22nd person in history to achieve EGOT status.
In a press statement (via The Hollywood Report), Spielberg said, “Thank you to all the Grammy voters, whose recognition of Music by John Williams means the world to me and our Amblin team, Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey, and congratulations to our partners at Imagine and the Walt Disney Company. This acknowledgment is obviously deeply meaningful to me because it validates what I have known for over 50 years: John Williams’ influence on culture and music is immeasurable and his artistry and legacy is unrivaled. I am proud to be associated with Laurent’s beautiful film.”
The most recent EGOTs all came in 2024, when Elton John, Benj Pasek, and Justin Paul entered the exclusive club. Other EGOTs include Rita Moreno, Audrey Hepburn, Whoopi Goldberg, Mel Brooks, John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, Viola Davis, and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
You can watch Music by John Williams now on Disney+, and keep up with all our Grammys 2026 coverage here.
