A week after being bitten by a spider in Mexico during her band The Pretty Reckless‘ tour supporting AC/DC, singer Taylor Momsen has suffered a serious reaction to the bite that has landed her in the hospital.
Momsen was initially given a shot on-site by medics and was able to play the next couple shows on the tour. However, as she posted via Instagram, on Tuesday, April 14th, she had to be taken to the hospital for a second round of treatment.

“Hospital today, show tomorrow,” she wrote alongside a photo of a nasty rash on her leg. “Poisonous spiders are NO BUENO but the show must go on. See you tomorrow Mexico City!”
While she expressed optimism at playing a show in Mexico City on Wednesday, a follow-up post by Momsen this morning showed her being wheeled on a stretcher in the hospital with the caption, “Or I just spend the night in the hospital… thank you to the amazing doctors who, well, they know.”
Other artists showed their support for Momsen in the Instagram comments, with Lzzy Hale writing, “Good lord girl!!! The creatures of the night are coming for u!! Can’t hold u down tho”
Alissa White-Gluz, former vocalist of Arch Enemy and currently of Blue Medusa, added,”The creepy crawlies just can’t keep their fangs off of you!”
The spider bite came two years after Momsen suffered a bat bite while onstage supporting AC/DC in Spain.
The Pretty Reckless will continue to support AC/DC this summer in North America, while also playing headlining shows of their own. Tickets are available here.
