Taylor Swift Granted Restraining Order Against Alleged Stalker

Taylor Swift has been granted a restraining order against Brian Jason Wagner, a Colorado man who allegedly stalked her and claimed she was his partner and the mother of his child. He must stay 100 yards away, per court order.

On June 6th, Swift filed a motion for a restraining order against Wagner, who she says has shown up uninvited to her Los Angeles home multiple times since July 2024. In her court filing, Swift detailed the disturbing nature of his behavior: “Mr. Wagner made various statements about living at my property (not true), being in a relationship with me (not true), believing I am the mother of his son (not true)… all of which are untrue and disconnected from reality.”

One visit reportedly involved Wagner carrying a glass bottle described in court documents as a potential weapon. A background check run by Swift’s team revealed he had, while incarcerated, written at length about fabricated “communications” with the pop star.

Her team also discovered that Wagner has allegedly tried to steal Swift’s mail and obtained an illegal California driver’s license with Swift’s address listed as his home address.

Swift’s statement expressed anxiety for the wellbeing of herself and her family. “I do not share publicly where I reside and have never shared my address or the location of my Los Angeles residence with Mr. Wagner,” she said, “the fact that Mr. Wagner has determined where I reside and visited the property several times, refusing to leave and claiming to need access, makes me fear for my safety and the safety of my family.”

She continued, “The fact that both of these recent visits and Mr. Wagner’s inappropriate and threatening communications to my staff about me have escalated in recent weeks creates a fear of imminent harm.”

The temporary restraining order will remain in effect until June 30th. At that point, Judge Archuleta will deduce if a stronger and permanent restraining order will be necessary.
