Teen Suicide announce new LP & tour with Liquid Mike, fanclubwallet & more, share “Idiot”

Teen Suicide have announced a new album, Nude descending staircase headless, due out April 17 via Run for Cover. They’re calling it their first “proper studio recording” and it was produced by Mike Sapone. “On the older records everything was self-recorded, home-recorded, on a laptop or on tape, and always with really limited resources,” Sam Ray says. “I think we became known for that but it was also very limiting to be seen as a lo-fi band.”

“I think to write this kind of music you sort of have to pull from torment,” Kitty Ray adds. “Our torment is more external. This is what we do, the only thing we know is making music, so the existential perils of these ever-changing machines and systems we’re trying to exist within is the stuff that’s driving us insane when we sit down to write a song.”

The first single, “Idiot,” is one of the band’s heaviest tracks yet. Watch the video, directed and animated by Wyatt Carson, below.

Teen Suicide also announced a spring North American tour, with Anthers, Liquid Mike, University, Fanclubwallet, and Pure Hex each joining them for select shows. They’ll be in NYC with University at Music Hall of Williamsburg on May 22. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 6 at 10 AM local, and you can see all dates below.
