Dana Eden, co-creator and producer of the Apple TV series Tehran, was found dead in an Athens, Greece, hotel room on Sunday. She was 52 years old.
According to the New York Times, Eden was in Greece to oversee production on the fourth season of Tehran. Featuring a cast that includes Glenn Close and Hugh Laurie, the Israeli spy thriller follows a Mossad agent on a mission in Iran’s capital.
In a statement on Monday, Eden’s production company rejected local media reports claiming police were investigating a possible link to Iran and her death, saying the “rumors about a criminal death or a national background are not true and are not grounded.”
Greece police officials told Reuters her death is being treated instead as a possible suicide.
