The Afghan Whigs Announce 40th Anniversary Tour

The Afghan Whigs have announced a 2026 North American tour in celebration of their 40th anniversary, with fellow indie rockers Mercury Rev set to open for the duration of the tour.

The run begins with a show in Woodstock, New York on April 25th, followed by stops in cities like Boston, Washington D.C., New York City, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Chicago, Minneapolis, Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and more. Tickets for The Afghan Whigs’ 2026 tour will go on sale first via an artist pre-sale beginning on Wednesday, January 21st at 10:00 a.m. local time; fans can enter the password Whigs40 for their desired show date(s) on Ticketmaster as well as the band’s official website. Tickets go on sale for the general public on Friday, January 23rd at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster and The Afghan Whigs’ website.

“40 years later, I still get to do the thing I love the most,” said frontman Greg Dulli in a statement. “Writing songs and performing them with my friends all over the world. I truly have to pinch myself.”

The Afghan Whigs formed in Cincinnati in 1986, and after several studio albums, disbanded in 2001. The band reformed in 2012 and have since released three studio albums: Do to the Beast (2014), In Spades (2017), and How Do You Burn? (2022).
