Jazz group The Bad Plus are calling it quits, and to commemorate their 25+ year run, they’ve announced a 2026 farewell North American tour.
The quartet, consisting of bassist Reid Anderson, drummer Dave King, guitarist Ben Monder, and saxophonist Chris Speed, will hit the road together one last time beginning with a pair of dates in Seattle on April 21st-22nd. After two more shows in the Pacific Northwest in late April, the group will resume their farewell outing in Portland, Maine on June 15th. They’ll close out the run with shows in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Washington D.C., Montreal, and more. The tour ends with a show in Westport, New York on June 27th. Tickets for the majority of The Bad Plus’ 2026 North American tour are available now via the band’s official website; certain dates, like the pair of shows at New York City’s Sony Hall, will go on sale on Friday, February 6th at 12:00 p.m. EST via Ticketmaster.
Meanwhile, founding members Anderson and King are gearing up to join Craig Taborn and Chris Potter for a special North American and UK/EU tour in tribute to Keith Jarrett’s American Quartet. The run, billed as The Bad Plus Craig Taborn and Chris Potter, will begin in Lexington, Kentucky on March 3rd, with shows to follow in Toronto, Oakland, Los Angeles, Santa Fe, and more.
