The Lemonheads Bring “Roky” and “My Drug Buddy” to Fallon: Watch

1 month ago 19

The Lemonheads stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday to perform “Roky,” a song off their latest album Love Chant, and “My Drug Buddy,” a track from their 1992 LP It’s a Shame About Ray.

Led by Evan Dando, the band first provided a faithful rendition of new song “Roky,” itself a tribute to the late musician Roky Erickson. Over a warm, smoldering groove and beneath moody lighting, the Lemonheads brought a touch of psychedelia and mystery to “Roky.”

They concluded the episode with a second song, busting out the beloved “My Drug Buddy” for Fallon. The performance unfolded over a modest trot, with fuzzy guitars and Dando’s rugged baritone on display; eventually, Fallon himself joined to sing the final chorus (in harmony) with Dando. Watch the pair of performances below.

The Lemonheads returned in October 2025 to offer Love Chant, their first new album in 19 years. They closed out the year with a massive world tour; meanwhile, Dando released a new memoir, Rumors of My Demise, on October 7th. Pick up a copy here.
