After three seasons on Disney+, it’s time for Baby Yoda’s big screen moment. The Mandalorian and Grogu will be the first new Star Wars movie in theaters since 2019’s Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker, and the new trailer reveals Pedro Pascal returning as the helmeted guardian of his smol Force-adept companion.

Season 3 of The Mandalorian wrapped up with Din Djarin (Pascal) enjoying the quiet life with Grogu; in the new film, he’ll find himself working for the New Republic in the uncertain years following the events of Return of the Jedi. In addition to Pascal, The Mandalorian and Grogu stars Sigourney Weaver as a New Republic colonel named Ward and The Bear‘s Jeremy Allen White as — no joke — Jabba the Hutt’s son Rotta.

Jon Favreau, who also created The Mandalorian, directs the movie, from a script written by him and new LucasFilm president Dave Filoni.

The Mandalorian and Grogu premieres May 22nd, 2026. Check out the new trailer below.
