The legendary UK electronic band, The Prodigy, returned to Coachella on Friday night for an energizing set that included hits like “Firestarter,” “Omen,” and many more.
The Prodigy’s MC, Maxim, led the group the 14-song set at the Mojave Tent, showcasing their characteristic intensity right off the bat by opening with their 1997 hit “Breathe,” followed by “Voodoo People.”
As the night progressed, the crowd was reportedly beaming with an upbeat, hyped energy, with mosh pits abound. This came to a head at a poignant moment, when Maxim and producer Liam Howlett paid tribute to the late frontman, Keith Flint, by pairing “Beyond the Deathray” with “Firestarter,” with images of Flint’s iconic, double-mohawk silhouette flashing on the screen.
The Prodigy concluded the main portion of their set 11 songs in with 2009’s “Invaders Must Die,” but came back out for three encores, including their controversial big beat classic, “Smack My Bitch Up.”

The Prodigy released their most recent album, No Tourists, in 2018. Up next, they’ll perform a few shows in California this week before returning to Coachella next weekend (get tickets). After that, they’ll hop back across the pond for a run of European tour dates.
