We always look forward to UK site The Quietus‘ year-end albums list, as it’s always full of leftfield choices that even a more-plugged-in-than-usual music fan might not have heard, and their Top 100 list this year includes Širom, Milkweed, France, Jerskin Fendrix, Dale Cornish, and many more in just the top quarter. There are also lots of artists that are more familiar to us too, like Rosalía, Maria Somerville, Nourished by Time, Stereolab, billy woods, Marie Davidson, PinkPanthress, clipping, Smerz, aya, The Tubs, MIKE, Pulp, caroline and more. We’ll not spoil anything, but their #1 made their #2 of 2021. But it all makes for one of the most unique lists that gets published every year.
