The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Ban Trump Supporters from Attending Their Shows

Veteran pop-punk band The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus have explicitly told Donald Trump supporters not to attend their shows.

“If you’re a Christian and you’re watching this and you voted for Donald Trump, shame on you,” the Florida group’s singer Ronnie Winter stated in a recent video posted to Instagram. “You are not allowed to come to my shows. I don’t want you there. Don’t come to my shows.”

Winter is a practicing Christian who has denounced the religion’s unfair treatment of the LGBTQ community in the past. In the clip, the artist offered refunds for tickets and reminded fans of his opposing stance to the US president and his supporters. “I thought I was pretty clear about all this stuff in 2020,” he said. “As you notice on my Instagram, I did not remove any of that stuff from the Stay Woke campaign.”

“Look man, the thing about being woke is you’re awake. And once you’re awake, you can never go to sleep,” he continued. “And not only has nothing changed, but everything they said was going to happen, the woke people, has happened. You have done nothing but prove them right.”

Concluding his message, Winter said MAGA followers shouldn’t bother coming to shows even beyond “just these four years” because “you’re going to hear the actual words of Jesus.” He elaborated, “You’re going to see a lot of acceptance from all areas of life and races, and you’re just going to see a lot of harmony. That’s not what you’re about.”

Winter and former guitarist Duke Kitchens co-founded The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus in 2003. The group is best known for their 2006 debut studio album, Don’t You Fake It, which spawned their hit single, “Face Down.” Their most recent LP, The Awakening, was released in 2018.
