The Strokes Push Back Album, Announce Hometown Show With Beach House, TV On The Radio, & Fcukers

The Strokes have some good news and some bad news for you. Bad news first: You'll have to wait longer for Reality Awaits. The band's first album in six years was scheduled for release June 26, but a new press release today indicates the band has pushed it back by four weeks. It will now be released on July 24. Maybe they're busy erasing all of Nick Valensi's parts?

OK, now the good news: In that same press release, the Strokes have announced a stacked hometown show this fall. On Oct. 2, the band will play Flushing Meadows Corona Park with all-star support from Beach House, TV On The Radio, and Fcukers. That's the kind of bill that makes you want to embark on a pilgrimage.

Pre-registration for tickets is open now. A presale for those who've registered begins Wednesday, June 17 at 10 a.m. ET, followed by public onsale Thursday, June 18 at 10 a.m. ET. When public onsale goes live, Queens local residents (11368, 11355, 11375, and 11367 zip codes) are eligible for a 20% discount on GA tickets. The discount is good through Aug. 30 or until the show sells out.

The Strokes are set to headline Bonnaroo this Friday. The festival is streaming live on Hulu and Disney+.
