Yesterday (9 February), Chappell Roan released a statement on her Instagram story regarding her decision. This follows the release of Wasserman CEO and founder Casey Wasserman's email correspondence with convicted sex criminal Ghislaine Maxwell in the latest of the Epstein files, a collection of documents relating to the investigation of late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The statement reads: "As of today, I am no longer represented by Wasserman, the talent agency led by Casey Wasserman.

"I hold my teams to the highest standards and have a duty to protect them as well. No artist, agent, or employee should ever be expected to defend or overlook actions that conflict so deeply with our own moral values.

"I have deep respect and appreciation for the agents and staff who work tirelssly for their artists and I refuse to passively stand by. Artists deserve representation that aligns with their values and supports their safety and dignity. This decision reflects my belief that meaningful change in our industry requires accountability and leadership that earns trust."

chappell roan has officially parted ways with wasserman talent agency.

Chappell Roan is the latest artist to condemn Wasserman for his actions and separate from the agency, following Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino, who announced her removal from the Wasserman website and Wednesday, who shared that they will be proceeding to extract themselves from the agency. Both Wednesday and Cosentino have called for Wasserman to resign from his executive position at the agency, in addition to Illinois rock band Beach Bunny, who have demanded he steps down and removes his name from the company.

NYC duo Water From Your Eyes have also shared that they intend to distance themselves from Wasserman, stating: "Nate, myself, and our manager Nik have no interest in being affiliated with Casey Wasserman and have absolutely zero intention of condoning his actions by silently remaining under his namesake banner. We trust our booking agents and we are waiting to understand what our options are."
