Townies have responded to Wednesday‘s song ‘Townies’ by releasing a track of their own named ‘Wednesday’ – check it out below. READ MORE: Wednesday – ‘Bleeds’ review: hard-won catharsis and thrilling noise The Boston-formed, Los Angeles-based band – made up of Tom Lynch, Chris Magnani and Nolan Melia – released the single last Wednesday (August 12) through Brain Synthesizer. They first signalled their intention to reciprocate Wednesday’s track around the time of the release of the ‘Bleeds’ album last September, on which ‘Townies’ appears. “Wait til they hear Wednesday by Townies,” they wrote at the time. The track is an angsty, pent-up emo track with chunky guitar riffs and a melodic through line that builds to a fuzzy, frenetic payoff.
