Nine Inch Nails have confirmed additional details about their upcoming Nine Inch Noize companion album, set for release this Friday, April 17th. The release coincides with the Nine Inch Noize’s live debut at Coachella.
The 12-song tracklist is structured in the same order as Nine Inch Noize’s thrilling weekend one Coachella setlist, featuring reworkings of Nine Inch Nails songs including “Vessel,” ” She’s Gone Away,” “Heresy,” “Copy of A,” “Closer,” “Came Back Haunted,” and “As Alive as You Need Me to Be.” Also featured are new interpretations of How to Destroy Angels’ “Parasite” and Soft Cell’s “Memorabilia.”
Nine Inch Noize is a collaboration between NIN members Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross and electronic producer Boys Noize. In a statement discussing the project, Reznor shared that the album was recorded “all over the place – some of it’s live, some in studios, hotels, planes, etc. We had a lot of fun revisiting these songs and hope you enjoy. Listen LOUD.”
Reznor also confirmed that there is “no surprise tour announcement” for Nine Inch Noize post Coachella weekend two. “I’m taking Sunday off and excited to be working on new Nine Inch Nails music Monday – I’ll see you when I come up for air.”
