Trivium Announce New EP, Unleash “Bury Me with My Screams”: Stream

Trivium have announced the three-song Struck Dead EP, unveiling the opening track “Bury Me with My Screams” ahead of the October 31st release date.

Frontman Matt Heafy leads the charge with his signature dual-vocal approach, commanding clean singing as well as gutturals while simultaneously dishing out barbed riffage alongside axeman Corey Beaulieu. The accompanying music video offers a visceral look at the band in full flight and sees Trivium performing in their spiffy hangar space, which was expanded into a proper studio in 2023.

“In 2023, we decided it was finally time to take the next step with The Hangar space we purchased — it was time to turn it into a full studio,” said bassist Paulo Gregoletto in a press release. “We brought in designer Roger D’Arcy, thanks to an introduction from Mark Lewis, and set out on a year-long build. While construction was underway, we were deep in rehearsals for ‘The Poisoned Ascendancy Tour,’ celebrating Ascendancy‘s 20th anniversary. What started as an idea to release one single during the tour quickly grew into two, then three, as we kept writing while we were waiting for the build-out to be completed.”

He continued: “During that time, the energy of revisiting Ascendancy started bleeding into these new songs. Matt poured a lot of his personal struggles from the past year into the music, and we used the writing process as a cathartic release. Those sessions evolved into a three-song EP that we’re incredibly proud of…”

The Struck Dead EP was produced by Trivium and recorded with Mark Lewis at said hangar in Orlando. The songs were then mixed and mastered by Josh Wilbur.

Meanwhile, the EP’s release coincides with the kickoff of Trivium’s fall North American tour with Jinjer and Heriot. The outing starts on EP release day, October 31st, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and runs through December 14th in Orlando. Get tickets here.
