Volkoder swung by for a chat to discuss his evolution as a musician, his recent releases, and what the rest of his year looks like.
For Brazilian house-music DJ and producer Volkoder, 2026 is shaping up to be a defining chapter in his career. With major releases, a packed summer schedule in Ibiza, and the launch of his own label on the horizon, the São Paulo-born producer has plenty of momentum behind him heading into the second half of the year.
“I’m feeling very grateful and motivated,” Volkoder said. “It feels like a lot of years of hard work are coming together, but at the same time, I feel like I’m just getting started.”
Volkoder first broke onto the scene in 2014 with the Detroit EP, but over the past 12 years, he said his main focus has shifted from producing club hits to building a stronger identity through his music. He described his music in three words as “energy, groove, and emotion,” and said his style draws on influences ranging from classic ’90s house to more modern, melodic elements.
I love creating records that work on the dancefloor but also have personality and memorable moments. I always try to evolve while keeping the groove and energy that people associate with my music.
VolkoderOutside of the studio, his live sets are dynamic and carefully curated, blending his own original tracks, exclusive remixes, and other selections he believes will resonate strongly with the crowd and foster connection. “I always try to make every performance feel unique,” he said.
Volkoder attributed that passionate energy in his musicality to growing up in São Paulo. “Brazil has a very passionate music culture,” he said. “Growing up there exposed me to many different styles of music and gave me a strong work ethic.”

That work ethic shines through in the amount of new music Volkoder has put out in the first six months of 2026, most notably his six-track Picture: Volkoder EP, released on February 6 via Solomun’s Diynamic Music label. Designed with the dance floor in mind, the EP is immersive and cohesive. It is driven by rolling percussion and groove-focused arrangements, and favors gradual progression and subtle energy shifts over instant gratification.
“This EP was born on the dancefloor, from long nights and from my relationship with more direct, hypnotic grooves full of personality,” Volkoder spoke about Picture: Volkoder. “Each track represents a different moment of the night, but they all connect with each other, maintaining the same atmosphere and intention.”
In addition to his EP, he dropped a two-track release, “Trajadão / Everybody,” on Black Book Records, and collaborated with artists like Adam Ten and fellow Brazilian producer, Vintage Culture. He said he enjoys both processes of either working on a track alone or in collaboration with another producer, because writing music solo allows him to follow his instincts from start to finish, but collaborations take the music in new creative directions he would’ve never discovered on his own. “In a collaboration, it becomes more about communication and finding the best balance between different creative perspectives,” Volkoder said.
“Hands Up,” his track with Vintage Culture, represents that. Volkoder said they worked together to create a track that was “fun, energetic, and made for big moments on the dance floor.” He described the collaborative process as “great” and that the track came together “very naturally” because “we both brought different ideas to the project while sharing a similar vision for the final result.”

With summer officially underway, Volkoder is focused on testing new music in the club. And there is no better place to do that than Ibiza, where people from all corners of the world gather to listen to good house music under the Mediterranean sun.
Volkoder has a string of appearances lined up on the White Isle this summer, and he said it’s a special place to perform because the crowd is open-minded and eager for an unforgettable experience.
Ibiza is one of the most special places in electronic music. When I play in Ibiza, I feed off the energy of the crowd and try to create moments that people will remember long after the night is over.
VolkoderAs Volkoder prepares to launch his new label, Special Records, in the near future and continues to develop his sound, he aims to keep making music that connects with people globally. But above all else, he wants to keep challenging himself and growing as an artist while enjoying the journey wherever it takes him.
