Arch Enemy started its seven-date China run on 03/27 with a show at Dongsan Live in Beijing, and the biggest talking point was obvious from the start: this was the band’s first concert with new vocalist Lauren Hart, formerly of Once Human.
Hart stepped into the lineup after Alissa White-Gluz exited late last year, making this a closely watched debut for anyone following the band’s next chapter. A fan-filmed video from the show has already surfaced online, giving us our first real look at how Hart handles the live set in front of an Arch Enemy crowd.
Back in February, Arch Enemy released its first studio track with Hart, the song "To The Last Breath". That release gave fans an early idea of where the band is heading, and Michael Amott made it clear at the time that this was more than just a one-off collaboration.
“Connecting with Lauren has marked an important step in my journey. Working with her was an exceptional experience — her remarkable voice, coupled with her dedication and professionalism, brings a rare level of excellence. I look forward to continuing the collaboration.”
Former Arch Enemy vocalist Angela Gossow also threw her full support behind Hart, calling her "Angela reincarnate" in a heartfelt social media post.
"My sister at [heart]. Such a warm and genuine human. We share the same taste in music, the same vocal technique, and dedication to music, people, and fitness. We have known each other personally for many years. Been following her journey with Once Human, was hoping for her breakthrough. Then I crossed my fingers for her joining another known metal band. Didn't work out. She never gave up!"
