Whitelands reveal new single, "Blankspace"

Sunlight Echoes arrives after Whitelands' 2024 release Night-bound Eyes Are Blind to the Day, the band's first studio release under Sonic Cathedral. "Blankspace" follows three previous tracks "Songbird (Forever)", "Glance", and "Heat Of The Summer", and chronicles a dark period for singer and guitarist Etienne Quartey-Papafio. “I was faced with mortality and very difficult things,” he comments. “I’m still not sure how to talk about it.”

Bassist Vanessa Govinden adds: “It’s about coming face-to-face with death, grief and mortality. This one song became a way to carry all of that heaviness.”
