Will Smith has been confirmed as one of the artists performing at the Positiv Festival in France next year.

It comes as the world-renowned actor is returning to his musical roots, and has been booked to play his first concert in the European country. He will take to the stage on July 31, for a set at the Roman Theatre of Orange.

Following him turning his sights to film over the past couple of decades – going on to star in blockbusters including Men In Black, I, Robot, Seven Pounds, King Richard and many more – he has recently revisited the music career that first put him on the map.

Recently, he announced new single ‘Work Of Art’, which saw him team up with Russ and son Jaden Smith. That single appears to be the main single on a soon-to-be-announced new album, according to reports from outlets such as Variety.

“POSITIV Production, Edeis Culture and the City of Orange are proud to announce an exceptional event: Will Smith, global icon and multi-talented artist, will perform for the first time in France after more than two decades of absence on the stage musical,” reads a new press release. “The artist chose the POSITIV Festival and a unique setting, the Théâtre Antique, for his big comeback with a unique show, in the city of Orange.”

The set is also expected to see Smith break out some of the hits from his early discography, including tracks like ‘Gettin’ Jiggy With It’, ‘Parents Just Don’t Understand’, ‘Girls Ain’t Nothing But Trouble’ and more. Visit here for tickets and more information.

It also comes after he signed with the music label Slang, under the Rene McLean-led entertainment company Influence Media, earlier this summer and released single ‘You Can Make It’ back in June.

Elsewhere, Smith’s return to the music industry has also seen him perform ‘You Can Make It’ at the BET Awards in June, join J. Balvin on stage at Coachella in April, and make a surprise appearance at Spanish boxing event La Velada Del Año 4.

Back in Febraury, he also joined up with DJ Jazzy Jeff to perform at the Grammy Salute to 50 Years of Hip-Hop ceremony.
