Dead City Punx, an upcoming documentary about the LA DIY band of the same name, has announced a world premiere date and revealed its trailer. Watch it below.

Coming from Beyond the Streets, the film was executive produced by Zack de la Rocha alongside Roger Gastman and Joseph Pattisall. It will screen at The Regent Theater in Los Angeles on April 16th at 7:30 p.m. (get tickets here) and 9:30 p.m. (get tickets here). The early showing will feature a DJ set by Keith Morris of the Circle Jerks, while the later show promises a surprise guest.

Consisting of members Meka, Grumpy, Mike, and Adrian, Dead City Punx have become known for their illegal outdoor shows with graffiti as a backdrop, fireworks, bonfires, and clashes with the LAPD and the mayor.

“From the beginning, I was like, ‘Bro, we’re going to make a band that is going to be like a line in the sand,'” says one member of the group in the trailer. “Sick ass fools are going to fuck with us, and bitch ass motherfuckers are not going to feel us.”

According to the official logline, the documentary “captures how four outcasts from society’s margins ignited a pandemic-era music movement that challenged definitions of public space, rebellion, and the right to assemble” through fan-filmed concert footage and exclusive interviews.

In February, Dead City Punx played an LA show in protest of ICE across from the Metropolitan Detention Center on Alameda Street.
