The record is their first since the Saddest Factory-signed trio's 2022’s self-titled LP and will drop on 8 May with a release party at The Shrine in LA. A run of underplay dates in New York and London will follow later that month, including three nights at Heaven venue from 26 May.
The band describe the new collection as a pivot towards a darker, more anxious sonic palette inspired by the relentless heat of Los Angeles, global political tensions and personal millennial anxieties. “We still fall in and out of love. We reach out to one another,” the band say in a statement. “Perhaps it’s a call to step outside the algorithm and into the richness of our lives.”
The announcement arrives alongside the release of the album’s title track and official video, “Dancing On The Wall.”
Produced by the band's guitarist Naomi McPherson, the record's tracks reportedly explore 'desire and connection against a backdrop of contemporary flux'. MUNA's profile has risen rapidly since their debut – released on Phoebe Bridgers' Saddest Factory imprint – with support slots for Harry Styles and Taylor Swift. In 2024, vocalist Kate Gavin released her debut solo album What a Relief; that same year the band appeared at Pitchfork Music Festival, performing "Ironic" with Alanis Morissette.
