Jools Holland had a whole trio of Canadian icons on his show last night. The enigmatic prog-rock duo Angine de Poitrine had their UK TV debut last night, and Shania Twain promoted her forthcoming new album Little Miss Twain, out July 24, by performing "You're Still The One," and a cover of Hank Williams' "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry." Holland accompanied her on the piano. Angine de Poitrine played "Sarniezz" and "Fabienk" from their recently dropped album Vol. II, which came out this past April.
Twain had been clued in to the Quebec duo's creative magic by her son Eja. "My son Eja got me into them so imagine my excitement when I found out we were on the same Later... episode!" she shared on social media yesterday.
Another promotional social post featured Twain, Holland, and Kleh and Khn de Poitrine. "I'm so jealous of the hair," Twain said, stroking his yellow yarn gently. "And also they're each 300 years old," Holland added. Khn let out a response in his own dialect to correct him: 333 years old, actually.
