The band, comprising Joe Sherrin (vocals, guitar), Kane Eagle (vocals, bass) and James Luxton (drums), will release Hoping As A Coping Mechanism on 10 July. Thirteen tracks long, the record follows two previous EPs and last November’s lead single "Float" and was recorded at the 5dB Studios north London studio with producer Sean Oakley (Sorry, Georgia).
Describing the record, the band explain it offers “a lot more range” than their earlier output, with greater attention paid to dynamics and structure: "Bangers ahoy! ....regardless of genre or style, we’re ultimately trying to write good songs, ones we'd want to listen to ourselves. This is our strongest batch to date. Until the next album of course. We’re very proud parents to our first full sizer.”
New track "Falling Posture" is described by Eagle as a song about “the pressures of staying positive whilst being bombarded with life’s expectations."
"Delving too deep into overthinking every aspect of your life, getting caught up and stuck in a loop of your own and others’ expectations of what ‘success’ is. Doing so never really leads to anything positive – be content with what you have.”
A 13-date UK tour kicks off in Bristol on 4 March with a final stop at The Lexington on 13 March. Further festival appearances are confirmed for Beat Connection in Reading and Portsmouth’s Takedown Festival in April.
