The historic event featuring the final performances from Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne that took place on July 5th will be released in theaters as a concert film titled Back to the Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow in early 2026.
As we reported extensively, the “Back to the Beginning” concert, which took place at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, was a once-in-a-lifetime event, not only featuring the farewell Sabbath and Ozzy sets, but also performances from Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Slayer, Steven Tyler, and many more acts.
Back to the Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow will condense the all-day concert into a 100-minute film, with a press release stating, “Presented as a love letter to Ozzy and the pioneering sound of Black Sabbath, the theatrical release will be a distilled version of the epic all-day event held at Villa Park.”
It continues, “Featuring thunderous performances of ‘War Pigs,’ ‘Iron Man,’ ‘Children of the Grave’ and a show-stopping ‘Paranoid,’ the film promises a deeply personal and electrifying farewell from the godfather of heavy metal with exclusive behind-the-scenes access and interviews from this iconic live performance.”
A physical release of the concert is expected to follow later in 2026.
Between the 40,000 fans in attendance and the millions who watched the livestream, the “Back to the Beginning” concert is reported to have raised roughly $190 million for charitable causes, the most of any charity concert event in music history.
