Brandi Carlile Rocks Boston’s TD Garden with Hits, Covers, and Fan Requests: Photos + Setlist

After partying it up with fans at her Mexican destination festival Girls Just Wanna Weekend earlier this year, Brandi Carlile has launched her “The Human Tour.” On Thursday night (February 12th), she brought the show to Boston’s TD Garden, with support act The Head and the Heart in tow. The set was heavy on tracks from Carlile’s new album, Returning to Myself, but there was plenty of time for fan favorites like “The Joke,” “Right on Time,” and “You and Me on the Rock.” As has been her wont lately, she also took a few fan requests from the audience, which led to her performing “Downpour” from her sophomore record The Story and “Wherever Is Your Heart” from 2015’s The Firewatcher’s Daughter.

Carlile also dropped in a few numbers off last year’s collaborative LP with Elton John, Who Believes in Angles?, including the title track and “Swing for the Fences.” Elsewhere, she performed her covers of Linda Ronstadt’s “Long Long Time” and Alanis Morissette’s “Uninvited.”

“The Human Tour” rolls on through early March, with upcoming stops in New York City, Toronto, Minneapolis, Portland, and San Francisco. In May, Carlile will reunite with her supergroup The Highwomen (Maren Morris, Natalie Hemby, and Amanda Shires) at her three-night Echoes Through the Canyon event at George, Washington’s Gorge Amphitheatre. Taking place May 29th-31st, the weekend will also see performances from Bonnie Raitt, I’m With Her, Sheryl Crow, Wynonna Judd, Indigo Girls, and more.
