Charlie Daniels will be resurrected as a hologram to perform at a military base in celebration of America’s 250th birthday.

The musician’s son, Charlie Daniels Jr., revealed plans for the hologram during a press conference at the Tennessee Wings of Liberty Museum this past week, according to Christian County Now. The concert will take place on July 4th at the Fort Campbell military base in Kentucky, which was chosen to be one of five locations in the United States to host a block party in celebration of the country’s 250th birthday. Daniels’ hologram will headline the show, alongside performances Aaron Tippin, Eric Lee Beddingfield, and the 101st Airborne Division Band.

“This show is kind of a dream come true for me,” said Daniels Jr. during the press conference. “We also couldn’t think of a better venue, a better place to unveil it than right here on America’s 250th birthday among the brave men and women of our armed forces and their families.”

Daniels passed away on July 6th, 2020, after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke. He was 83 years old.

The singer had a history-defining musical career, having mastered playing the guitar, banjo, fiddle, and mandolin by just 20 years old. He played bass on three Bob Dylan albums and made music alongside Ringo Starr and Leonard Cohen.

Daniels formed the Charlie Daniels Band in 1971 and went on to have several country hits that defined his success. The most definitive song of his career was “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” which came out in 1979.

For his musical efforts, Daniels received an invitation to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2007. He was later inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2016.
