In September, the dead body of a 14-year-old girl named Celeste Rivas was found in a Tesla registered to the singer d4vd. He was named a suspect in November, and today the 21-year-old whose real name is David Anthony Burke was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the case.

The Los Angeles Police Department made the announcement on social media and clarified that he is being held without bail. The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office on Monday for filing consideration.

Rivas had been missing since April 2024. After her body was found, it was discovered that she had the same tattoo as d4vd. d4vd also had an old demo of a song called "Celeste" that recirculated, and Rivas' mother told police that David was the name of her daughter's boyfriend.

At the time, d4vd shelved his deluxe album Withered: Marcescence scheduled for release on Sept. 19 via Interscope, and the rest of his tour was canceled.
