Damon Albarn To Make SNL Debut With Gorillaz Next Month

Damon Albarn has graced many a stage as a member of both Blur and Gorillaz, but somehow, the Saturday Night Live stage has not been one of them. That'll change on March 7, though, as Gorillaz will be SNL's musical guest that evening. The episode will also feature Ryan Gosling, his fourth time as host.

Gorillaz will presumably be performing songs from their upcoming album The Mountain, which is out on February 27. Along with SNL, Albarn and company will promote the album with a run of shows at what they're calling House Of Kong LA, which follows last fall's London residency. The Mountain has a ton of guest collaborators, so it's not impossible that one of them could appear during Gorillaz SNL performance; incidentally, Albarn features on Don't Be Dumb, the new album from A$AP Rocky, who performed on SNL (and appeared in a sketch) just last month.

Gosling, for his part, is headed to SNL this time to promote his upcoming sci-fi adventure flick Project Hail Mary. The February 28 episode will feature musical guest Mumford & Sons with Heated Rivarly star Connor Storrie hosting.
