Haken have confirmed a significant shake-up in their lineup, revealing that longtime guitarist Charlie Griffiths and bassist Conner Green are no longer members of the band.
"It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the departure of Charlie Griffiths and Conner Green from Haken," the band shared on their social media channels. "We are tremendously grateful for the time we’ve spent together, creating music and touring the world, achieving things we thought weren’t possible.
"Both Charlie and Conner are irreplaceable, as musicians and individuals, and they have given so much to make this band what it is today. We cannot thank them enough, but we wish them all the best with any future endeavours. They will always be a part of the Haken family. New music coming this year."
Griffiths has been part of Haken since 2008, helping shape the band’s sound across their studio releases while also branching out with his solo project Tiktaalika. Green joined later, coming in during 2014 after original bassist Thomas MacLean departed, and became a defining presence in the band’s more recent era.
The announcement comes after a stretch of uncertainty around Haken’s recent plans, including a cancelled Euroblast Festival appearance and the band stepping away from scheduled dates with Coheed and Cambria.
At this point, no further information has been shared as to whether the promised new music will include any new collaborators or band members.
