Iceland Eclipse Lineup: Desert Hearts, ANNA, and More Added

1 week ago 18

Iceland Eclipse has announced its “Fourth Contact” programming, adding more musicians and speakers to the one-off festival’s lineup.

Five months before the one and only edition of Iceland Eclipse is set to take place, organizers have added 15 more music acts and 27 more speakers to its anticipated program.

On the electronic music front, SoCal playa tech outfit Desert Hearts, live electronic duo Maribou State, and Brazilian tech house starlet ANNA give more weight to the DANCE bill. Indigenous Canadian bass music artist GDubz will also perform a tribute set dedicated to the late wood flute artist Joacopelli.

Speakers feature heavily on the Iceland Eclipse lineup — even more so with the new additions to its LEARN and CONNECT programming. These include US filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, UK psychonaut Carl Hayden Smith, and Brent Pella, who’s throwing a festival of his own to serve as the backdrop of a comedy.

Previously, Iceland Eclipse announced electronic music headliners like Nightmares on Wax, MEDUZA, RJD2, Booka Shade, Captain Hook, CloZee, BigRedMachine, Nick Warren, Ash Lauren, Apashe, Kenny Dope, and John 00 Fleming. All told, the DANCE lineup now sits at 88 acts. Meanwhile, the LEARN bill now consists of 70 speakers, with 84 on the CONNECT program.

Iceland Eclipse’s Fourth Contact lineup drop accompanies the announcement of a fifth day. Those fortunate enough to be there on the evening of Tuesday, August 11 will be treated to a welcome ceremony in which an Icelandic elder will talk about area mythology, along with performances by local musicians. The remainder of the festival runs from August 12-15, with the eclipse set to reach totality on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula on August 12.

Tickets currently start at $888 for adults and $200 for children. Purchase yours and find additional information on the Iceland Eclipse website.
