Iron Maiden To Miss Rock Hall Induction Due to Tour Commitment: “Fans Always Come First”

Iron Maiden have confirmed that they will miss their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in November due to a previously booked tour of Australia.

Earlier this week, Maiden were revealed among the Class of 2026 inductees alongside such acts as Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order, Wu-Tang Clan, Oasis, and more. The honor comes after 20-plus years of eligibility for the UK metal legends.

While singer Bruce Dickinson has made contentious statements about the Rock Hall in the past, it appears the band’s decision to skip the event is purely a logistical one.

The induction ceremony will take place on November 14th in the midst of the act’s Australian leg of their ongoing “Run for Your Lives Tour.” Particularly, it falls between a November 13th show in Melbourne and a November 15th show in Sydney, making it near-impossible for the band to show up to the Los Angeles ceremony.

Longtime Iron Maiden manager Ron Smallwood stated in an email to Billboard, “As the most observant have already noticed, the band will be on tour in Australia around the November date of the Induction ceremony for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Los Angeles. In accepting, Iron Maiden made it very clear to the R&R HoF that the fans always come first and that the shows will of course go on.”

He continued, “We would like to assure all our fans in Australasia that the Australian and New Zealand dates will remain unaffected, and we look forward to bringing the ‘Run for Your Lives Tour’ to them on the penultimate stop of our 50th anniversary celebrations.”

Prior to hitting Australia, Iron Maiden will embark on a North American run of their “Run for Your Lives Tour” with support from Megadeth and Anthrax. Tickets for that outing, set to kick off in late August, are available here.
