Industry has wrapped up its fourth season, but can fans expect to see it back for season five? Find out below.
The financial thriller is a joint production between HBO and the BBC and it follows the personal and professional lives of a group of young graduates at an investment bank in London.
Myha’la, Marisa Abela, Ken Leung and Kit Harington lead the cast and the show has been created by Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, two real-life former investment bankers.
The fourth season kicked off on January 11, with subsequent episodes airing on a weekly basis, with the season’s climactic eighth instalment landing on March 1. Check out the trailer for the current season below.
Season four has received rave reviews from critics. It received a five-star review from The Guardian, who noted that after the show “hit its stride” in its third season, “season four is even better, truly top-tier television that’s surely destined for end-of-year lists, a serious feat when we’re barely a week into January.” Other critics described it as “jaw-dropping” and “ambitious”.
The new season made NME’s list of shows to look forward to in 2026, describing the show’s weekly rollout as “a sure sign that Industry’s stock is still rising.”
Is Industry returning for a season five?
Shortly before the conclusion of the fourth season, showrunners Down and Kay posted on social media that the show had been officially recommissioned for a fifth run of episodes.

“We’re privileged to have joined the small, esteemed club of dramas that have run for five seasons on HBO,” they wrote.
While Industry fans will be delighted by the news, the post also confirmed that the fifth season will bring the show to a close.
“For some time now we have been thinking about how best to end the show on an unparalleled high,” they continued. “Unlike some of our characters, we know when to leave a party….We’d like to thank our evangelical fan base, especially those who have watched from day one. Finally: we owe everything to our crew and the best cast on TV for making our writing live. The characters will live on because of their world-class performances.”
There has been no release date confirmed for season five, but traditionally there have been two-year gaps between each run, leading to a likely landing spot of early 2028.
